Black carpet
I did the red carpet movie preview thing tonight. I was walking past Australia Square on the way home and noticed a large gathering of press, lights and cameras. So I wandered up and found it was the Men in Black II movie premiere after-party. Seeing as though I ended up getting a decent spot next to the ribbon I hung around to see if anyone interesting turned up. Saw lots of the regular entertainment journos, a couple of big brother stars (Turkan?), and several other b-grade aussie TV week stars I couldn't identify, but everyone seemed excited when they walked up the carpet. I did see Kieren Perkins and of course the big guns, Wil Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Lara Flynn Boyle. I got a fairly good look at all of them actually from about 5 metres away as they spent quite a while talking to the cameras and posing.
Anyway, interesting as I've never done one of those red carpet things before. Particularly entertaining watching the paperazzi in action. Anyway, watch Sunrise# on Channel 7 Wednesday morning, you might see me standing to the right of a strange bunch of people bobbing their heads up and down at the encouragement of one of the channel 7 reporters. I'm wearing a black jacket, light striped shirt and a holding a courier bag trying to look <>cool as all fuck*<> at a Wil Smith movie premiere.. oh dear.
* Must credit Merrick and Rosso for that line, used to describe an audience member they were hassling during a live show at the Enmore a few months back.
#Heh, yes I was on Sunrise this morning, twice, but you had to play it in slow motion to see my brief 0.1 second crowd pan appearance.
